What is THC-P

THCP - TetraHydroCannabiPhorol - which binds up to 33x more strongly to the CB1 receptor than Δ-9 THC

A new type of cannabinoid that is currently a legal THC.

It is also found naturally in the hemp plant.

According to UNIHEMP's study, THCP binds 33 times more strongly to the body's CB1 receptor than delta-9 THC.

THCP is essentially a cannabinoid that can cause highly psychoactive effects. Most consumers will experience very, very "high" effects, but exact results are still somewhat unknown.

Dr. Tanja Bagar is a medical advisor to CBD Oracle and CEO of ICANNA Institute: the International Cannabinoid Institute. When asked about the effectiveness of THCP, she said:

"It's also hard to figure out, so THCP is definitely more potent than both delta-9 and delta-8 THC, but to what extent is hard to predict," she explains. "If we were to say that delta-8 THC is half as potent as delta-9 THC, I would say that THCP is probably 5-10 times more potent than delta-9 and 10-20 times more potent than delta-8."

However, as the doctor notes, this is only hypothetical and we cannot say for sure how potent this cannabinoid is. It really varies on a case-by-case basis.
